FAQ
If your question isn't here, the rules page covers the mechanics in full.
What am I actually buying?
A numbered position on a public board, with your name and link on it, for as long as nobody outbids you. It is not a fixed-term ad slot — the whole point is that the position is contestable.
How much do I get back if I'm outbid?
85% of what you paid, as site credit, automatically. We keep a 15% fee. On a $100 bid that is $85 back and $15 kept.
Is the refund automatic or do I have to ask?
Automatic. The credit lands the moment the person outbidding you completes payment. You will see it on your dashboard and get an email.
Can I get real money back instead of credit?
Credit is the default and it is instant. Cash-out to your original payment method is available once your balance is over $50 — see the refund policy.
What happens when the round ends?
Whoever holds a spot at that moment is listed permanently in the Hall of Fame and forfeits their deposit. Every spot then resets to the starting price for the next round.
So holding until the end is the losing move?
It costs you the deposit, yes. What you get is a permanent public record and however much traffic the spot sent you along the way. Some people want the spot; some want the listing. Both are valid.
Can I bid more than the minimum?
Yes, and it is often smart. The next bidder has to beat your price by at least 10%, so bidding high makes you expensive to remove.
Someone is mid-checkout on the spot I want.
Spots lock for 10 minutes during checkout so payments can't race each other. If they don't finish, the lock releases on its own and the spot is fair game again.
Can I change my link after claiming?
Not yet — the listing is fixed for the life of the claim. Editing is planned; for now, double-check your URL on the checkout screen.
Do the country boards work differently?
Same rules, separate spots and separate rounds. They are smaller (25 spots against the worldwide board's 50), so they are cheaper to get into.
