Terms of service

HoldTheSpot sells contestable positions on public boards. Claiming a spot lists your name and link at that position until another person pays more for it, or until the round ends. You are not buying a guaranteed term, a fixed impression count, or any promise of traffic.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract where you live. If you claim a spot for a company, you confirm you may bind that company.

• Prices are shown in US dollars and charged in US dollars. Your bank may add a conversion fee we do not control.
• Your bid is split into a platform fee and a refundable deposit, as described in the rules and shown on the checkout screen before you pay.
• A spot is only yours once payment settles. A checkout lock reserves it for 10 minutes and is not a claim.

You keep ownership of your name, mark and link. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them on the site and in promotional material about the boards while your listing is live, and permanently in the Hall of Fame if you hold a spot at the end of a round.

You are responsible for what your link points to, including after you claim the spot. Pointing a claimed listing at content that breaks the rules is a violation even if the link was compliant at checkout.

• Adult content, gambling, and anything unlawful.
• Link shorteners, chat invites, cloaking, and destination-hiding redirects.
• Impersonation, malware, phishing, and deceptive download prompts.
• Automated bidding designed to deny others access, and payment fraud of any kind.

We may remove a listing that breaks these rules. Removal for a violation forfeits both the fee and the deposit.

The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change board sizes, starting prices, fee rates, raise minimums or round lengths. Changes apply to future claims, never retroactively to a claim you have already paid for.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. We are not liable for lost profit, lost traffic, or the commercial results of holding or losing a spot.

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend an account for fraud, chargeback abuse, or repeated rules violations. Suspension for cause forfeits outstanding credit.
