Refund policy
Deposits are designed to come back. Here is exactly when they do and when they don't.

The split
Every payment is split into a 15% platform fee and a 85% refundable deposit. Only the deposit is ever returned. The fee is consideration for listing you and is earned at the moment your listing goes live.
You get your deposit back when
- Someone outbids you. The full deposit is credited to your account automatically when their payment settles.
- We remove your listing for a rules violation we should have caught at checkout. In that case you get the fee back too — a full refund.
- A technical fault on our side prevents your listing from going live.
You do not get your deposit back when
- You are still holding the spot when the round ends. The deposit is forfeited in exchange for a permanent Hall of Fame listing. This is stated on the checkout screen before you pay.
- You change your mind after your listing is live. A claim is not cancellable — going live is the service.
- Your listing is removed for a violation of the rules you agreed to, such as adult content, gambling or a deceptive link. The fee and deposit are both forfeited.
Site credit
Refunds are issued as site credit by default because it is instant and has no processing cost. Credit never expires, spends like cash on any board at checkout, and is visible on your dashboard with a full ledger of every movement.
Cashing out
You can request a cash refund to your original payment method once your credit balance is at least $50. Email support@holdthespot.lol from the address on your account. Cash-outs are processed within 10 business days and are returned through the original payment processor, which may take a further 5–10 days to appear.
Card-network refunds are limited to 180 days from the original payment. Balances older than that can only be spent as credit.
Chargebacks
If you open a chargeback rather than contacting us, your account is suspended and any credit balance is frozen until the dispute resolves. We would much rather just refund you — email first.
Statutory rights
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live. Where local law gives you a cancellation right that this policy would otherwise remove, the law wins.
